Parents, Kids & Tobacco

Help Your Kids Make The Right Choice

Parents make a big difference in whether their kids smoke.  This lively parent education video features real kids and parents talking about smoking, peer pressure and the importance of parental trust.  Use the video for parent viewing or in parent education meetings.

While filming young people for this video we learned that kids do not want to disappoint their parents. Those children who were told not to smoke did not want to violate their parent’s trust.  This is the message we hope parents will learn from watching this video.

During this video, parents are challenged to answer the questions:

Why do you think kids try smoking?

Where do kids get their cigarettes?

Do you think it matters if your kids see you smoke?

What would you do if you know your kids were smoking?

What are appropriate consequences?

Footage in this video is of real kids and their parents talking about decisions that affect their lives.
